GENERAL INFO

What is a Free Agent?

Free agents are individual players who are looking to join a team or may have a partial group of players that want to play together, but are lacking the depth of a full team.

How Do I sign up as a Free Agent?

Each individual player must register on-line, and indicate the friends that he/she is interested in playing with.

What happens after I sign up?

Free Agent names are then posted (with permission) on-line. Team Captains from existing teams (who need additional players) can draft any unclaimed Free Agent by contacting Ace 5on5.

What type of personal information is posted on-line?

Personal information (address/phone, etc.) about any Free Agent is not posted on-line, however you can expect basketball related information to be listed such as: Name, height, position, skill level, and experience. If a team captain is interested in a free agent, the connection between players is made through our office.

FREE AGENT DRAFTS

What is a Free Agent draft?

Prior to each season (based on registration); free agents are invited to attend a draft in efforts to form a team(s) of individual players. The draft consists of introducing players to each other, exchanging contact info, forming a team, designating a team name and captain, choosing uniform options, playing a few pick-up games together, and meeting "Ace". Time, date, and location are determined just before the draft.

What should I bring to the draft?

Expect to bring your fees, a great attitude, and come ready to play.

How are teams made up at the draft?

A maximum of ten players are considered for a new team. Priority is given to those who have pre-registered (by date) and paid. If more than 10 players are eligible, we will do our best to find a team for the balance of players.

Do men & women have separate drafts?

Yes. A pre-season draft is held for each gender.

What days and locations will the Free Agent team(s) play?

Days and locations are determined by which leagues have openings for teams. After registering, you will be notified of the day & location of play.

If I am unable to attend the draft, can I still play?

Yes. However your spot is not secure on a team until you have registered and are paid in full.
