Camp Focus

This camp focuses on the NCAA Women's game, particularly the J.C., NAIA, & Div. III levels, with an emphasis on 3-person mechanics.

Who should attend this camp?

This camp is geared toward men's & women's officials who are aspiring to work the NCAA game. Although we emphasize women's mechanics, this is a great camp environment for officials who are undecided on their career paths, or who desire to be seen by a specific conference supervisor.

Five great reasons why this camp could be for you

1. All games have 3-person crews
2. Centrally located in Orange County
3. Great staff of speakers & evaluators
4. Supervisors often hire on the spot or directly from this camp
5. Great tournament competition

Camp History

The first Ace 5on5 camp was held in the summer of 2002 @Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. The concept of 3-person crews began to dominate the headlines in the NCAA women's game about this time, prompting more high school officials to seriously embrace the opportunity to learn how to officiate 3-person mechanics.

Ace's original plan of hosting camps was to focus on the high school level, but encouragement from officiating friends led to the birth of the college camp.

This camp has averaged about 7 officials each year being hired on the spot for J.C., NAIA, and Div. III jobs. John Dangleis has attended as the keynote speaker each year, and our staff consistently includes officials representing the NBA, WNBA, NCAA, CIF, and local college supervisors.

The success of this camp has allowed us to add a much needed training and development opportunity for younger officials called the Future Stars High School Camp, which began in 2004. We also launched the PRT (Personal Referee Training Program) which offers officiating training in a personal (small group) environment.

Remember that YOU are responsible for the growth of your officiating career. Pursue your dreams with pride, and continue to invest in your future.
